“THE ELDERS COUNCIL”
Many times we may find ourselves doodling on scraps of paper. These are semi transcendental moments. I drew this sketch out around 1978 and for years I just looked at it from time to time. It is what we call a study that led to a few large acrylic paintings on some heavy wall cover they threw out at Spelman College. Finally after realizing the fullness of this idea, I sketched out a finished  drawing in india ink, separated the colors,made some screens for what is called a seri-graph. The process is applying one color at a time,in this case we added 8 colors with the final black. An edition of 36 were printed of all originals.
